9 Funniest Code Comments by Programmers
I have compiled a list of the funniest comments by programmers. Some of them are just impossible and will make your ribs crack. You will not believe the comments by some source code, just go through this list and find out for yourself.
1. When I wrote this, only God and I understood what I was doing. Now, God only knows
This was a comment made by a really good mathematician called Karl Weierstrass and it made my night. My only question is if he was referring to the same hard mathematics Karl Weierstrass was referring to. Of course not! But I am curious to know.
2. I dedicate all this code, all my work, to my wife, Darlene, who will have to support me and our three children and the dog once it gets released into the public.
You have to admire the humor here! If not that, the guts this guy had. Anyway, when I read this, I wept!
3. Drunk, fix later
This was among my top 5 best comments, how do you code drunk? Well if you can that would be awesome. I just wish I could think when drunk. Whether or not it was true and he was drunk it is still very funny.
4. Magic. Do not touch.
5. This code sucks, you know it and I know it. Move on and call me an idiot later
This makes the list as one of the funniest and the most honest. Accepting your weaknesses is the first step towards development. That was probably what was going on in the programmers mind. The words of his shrink. Lol.
6. I am not responsible of this code. They made me write it, against my will.
This programmer shifts blame probably of the poor code he is responsible of making to his bosses. He probably doesn’t have a job now.
7. I can’t divide with zero, so I have to divide with something very similar result = number / 0.00000000000001.
8. If you’re reading this, that means you have been put in charge of my previous project. I am so, so sorry for you. God speed.
This is a classic way of leaving a mark. Many programmers have left this for the people taking on tasks they were formerly in charge of.
9. If this code works, it was written by Paul DiLascia. If not, I don’t know who wrote it.
Some programmers are fond of leaving such comments, some do it when they are sure they aren’t returning to work, and others, well they are just brave.
